It’s one of our favorite things to do, go on a big weekend lunch and even better with friends. A few weeks ago we had a long lunch with Dan, Amy, Max and Zoe at a restaurant complete with a play area where the kids enjoyed the outdoors before and after. The amazing news is that this lunch lasted three hours, included bread, antipasto, pasta, meat, dessert & coffee–and there wasn’t a meltdown in sight. Not a bad day!
It was such a fun way to announce the news, we couldn’t help ourselves. Coming in June 2012, a baby boy to the Mathews family…and we couldn’t be happier!

This year we had friends from Amsterdam join us for the festivities, Dave and his 3-year-old daughter Annika. Phoebe loved having a “big” friend to play with (most of the time!) and often they ended up with matching outfits. Guess who lives in Europe and shops at H&M…?
On Christmas Eve, we went to the candlelight service at Rome Baptist Church, where we (try to) regularly attend during the rest of the year. Goldfish crackers, raisins and even chocolates couldn’t sustain the under-four crew though. Paul ended up in the foyer with all three of them while Dave and I enjoyed the second half of the service.
