This year we had friends from Amsterdam join us for the festivities, Dave and his 3-year-old daughter Annika. Phoebe loved having a “big” friend to play with (most of the time!) and often they ended up with matching outfits. Guess who lives in Europe and shops at H&M…?
On Christmas Eve, we went to the candlelight service at Rome Baptist Church, where we (try to) regularly attend during the rest of the year. Goldfish crackers, raisins and even chocolates couldn’t sustain the under-four crew though. Paul ended up in the foyer with all three of them while Dave and I enjoyed the second half of the service.
Christmas Day was smoother–just breakfast, presents and eventually…
A trip to Villa Borghese.
THANK YOU GRANDMA & GRANDPA MATHEWS, GRANDMA & GRANDPA OLSEN AND MARY JANE FOR YOUR LOVELY GIFTS!

Pretty lights. Looks like you had some English crackers (the kind with the snap, hat, joke and trinket), too…fun, fun!!
Looks like fun
So…. Your having a boy, exciting
Mom and I saw you were pregnant when dad was visiting… When’s the baby due?
June 1 is the official day, one day after Phoebe’s birthday! Sadly I was only about one minute pregnant in those photos you saw. That’s called my post-Estelle physique in a bathing suit! Ha. Next time I’ll try to trim down a little better. Wish us luck…all around!
well…i guess mom and I have accurate intution then…
The picture we saw you were not in a bathing suit… You are in regular clothes….we are excited to see you and your family again…
